Jan. 26, 2014 - The MTC!
Dear Family!
I love you all! I miss you! How's everything going? I just wanted to say thank you for everything you've done for me!
So the first day here was crazy. On the plane ride to SLC, I sat by five other missionaries headed to the MTC! It was really nice to be with them and bond. At the airport, Grandma and grandpa and Eric and Tamara were all waiting, and documenting that moment extremely thoroughly! Then we got to the MTC (and I got to see Riley!!!) and said goodbye. The curb was lined with tons of super smiley missionaries. The rest of the day was just an overload of information. Everyone was pretty clueless. But it's a lot more managable now! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my companion and district. We have an all-girl district so it's lots of fun. And they keep us super duper uber busy.
I love this gospel and I'm so so happy to be here! I feel so blessed. I'm always thinking about and praying for you!
Love,
Sister Sage Sabey

Jan. 25, 2014 - I'm HERE!
Dearest Family!!!
How are you all doing?! So my P-day is Saturday while I'm here at the MTC, just so you know! Thank you so so much for the cinnamon rolls! And for the letters and the jimmy johns and for being awesome. I miss you guys!! (Oops, it's a rule that we're not allowed to say "guys" anymore). I hope you have all been surviving without me, hopefully the swelling in your eyes has gone down by now. And you can also stop wearing black. Just kidding. I'm sure you are having a blast. :)
So wanna hear all about the MTC?! I love it here. The first day was loco craaazy. But I made it through! After grandma and grandpa dropped me off at the curb, my "host" took me around and showed me where everything was. But my eyes may as well have been closed the entire time because I still had no idea where anything was. But there was always someone there showing me where to go. On the first day they give you this big orange dot on your name tag, so everyone knows you're a newbie. They call it a dork dot. So you can only wear it on the first day if you want to be cool. I love my companion! Here name is Sister Jenkins. Crazy story, I added her as a friend on facebook two days before we came out here! We were on this sisters facebook group, and found out we were going to the same place. So we had technically already met before I met her in real life. But anyway she is awesome! I love her to death. We would definitely be friends anyway if we weren't companions. I definitely know the Lord had a hand in choosing her as my companion! She's from Bountiful, Utah, and she went to BYU Provo. At BYU she was friends with some of my friends from Colorado too. We pretty much have all the same interests. So yeah, we've had a lot of fun together! My district is so awesome too. We have an all-girl district, so we get to bond extra hard core. There are 8 of us. Three of us are going to Hawaii, four are going to Denver North, and one to Pocatello Idaho. Ah, I just love them all so much.
Hm, what else? It's super cold here in freezing Utah. I'm going to be honest.... I won't miss being cold for the next 18 months. And I didn't bring a jacket or anything, because I won't need one for Hawaii. Soo I'm just going to tough it out and then I'll enjoy the warmth in Hawaii even more.
Guess what?? They made me get a flu shot!! And guess what happened the next day!? I got the flu. Well, flu-like symptoms. That punk flu shot should be banned from existence. But I was only feeling sick for a couple of hours. And Sister Jenkins is the best and took care of me. So all is well. :)
Our schedule is super busy... no time for lollygaging whatsoevs! (that was for you dad). Waking up at 6:30 actually isn't that hard. I literally don't remember the last time I woke up the first time my alarm went off. But it's been cool not being tired in the morning. It's more like half way through the day that I hit a wall of sleepiness... But that'll probably go away as I get more used to the schedule. I love my teachers. They are so cool. Dad, I can see why you loved teaching at the MTC. I'm sure the missionaries loved you too, you would be great at that! It's so cool learning about the gospel all day every day. (Well it's only been three days but it feels like forever!). The spirit is so strong at the MTC. I have already learned and grown so much. I think Heavenly Father has definitely given me a greater capacity to learn here. The spirit is the the most important and powerful tool. It's also really important to pay attention to all the tender mercies the Lord has given me. I feel so blessed. Heavenly Father is really looking out for me, and sends me so many blessings. I love this gospel! I know that the only way to be truly happy is through living righteously.
Well, sorry I'm not very eloquent. I'll work on that. But you asked for details, so I gave you details! (Haha dad go ahead and send that email that says "LESS." I wouldn't be offended). But if you have any specific questions to ask I'll answer those next time! I can't remember if there's anything I'm forgetting to tell you. Just know that I love you all so much!! And I miss you!
Mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY on Monday!!! I'll be thinking about you! Seriously, you are the BEST. I'd be lucky if I turned out half as wonderful as you. I mean that. Boys, do something super duper uber nice for mom! Don't fight and clean up extra and write her a card and give her flowers. And refrain from saying WOW MOM... at least on Monday. :)
I love you!!

Dec. 2013
Dear Sister Sabey:
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission. In addition to your calling to share the gospel, you will be assigned to serve in the Laie Hawaii Temple Visitor's Center. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months.
You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 (Moved to Jan. 22, 2014). You will prepare to preach the gospel in the English language. Your assignment may be modified according to the needs of the mission president.
You have been recommended as one worthy to represent the Lord as a minister of the restored gospel. You will be an official representative of the Church. As such, you will be expected to maintain the highest standards of conduct and appearance by keeping the commandments, living mission rules, and following the counsel of your visitors' center director and your mission president. As you devote your time and attention to serving the Lord, leaving behind all other personal affairs, the Lord will bless you with increased knowledge and testimony of the Restoration of the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ by helping to receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. As you serve with all your heart, might, mind, and strength, the Lord will lead you to those who are prepared to be baptized.
The Lord will reward you for the goodness of your life. Greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children. We place our confidence in you and pray that the Lord will help you become an effective missionary.
